About the Business
Long Ditton Montessori Children's House follows the Montessori philosophy of education which recognises the importance of the early years in forming a child's character and allowing the child to learn the way he learns best and easiest by doing things themselves.
Within certain limits the child can choose work that appeals to his own inner interests. They can exercise their sense of freedom and spontaneity with enthusiasm because they are doing what they want to do instead of what someone else tells them they must do. Gradually, the child builds a strong sense of independence and self-confidence as their skills increase. The children are the most important members of our nursery and we encourage them to develop their confidence and independence, alongside care and respect for others. We welcome and value all our children, irrespective of ability, religion, race, gender or cultural heritage.
